These Are the Best Race Engines of All Time

Came to article Cossie DFV, but was crushed to it…then assumed of the engine from the 917, and someone experienced that presently…then thought of….position is, there are a bunch that can be argued here (though DFV wins as a result of ubiquity, longevity, dependability, etcetera.). I’m going to suggest two choices that are not so noticeable, but their effects is considerable: the Coventry Climax 4-cyl, and the VW boxer motor.

Each are (or had been) astoundingly inexpensive, really dependable, easily labored on by everyone with basic equipment…nonetheless equipped to make astounding energy for their dimension by genuine professional motor modifiers, and they had been discovered in a bazillion race vehicles for a long time.
